Sigiriya-Rock-Fortress

Description.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World," is an ancient royal citadel located in central Sri Lanka. Rising 200 meters above the surrounding jungle, this massive rock column was transformed into a palace and fortress by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD. Famous for its well-preserved frescoes, mirror wall, and impressive water gardens, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. The summit offers panoramic views and the ruins of the once-glorious sky palace.
